Quite frankly, living at the other end of the metro has prevented me from exploring good old Manila. And so when the opportunity to visit the area happened last Easter Sunday, I was all up and giddy for it.
The day-trip started with Divisoria. Given that it was a long weekend and that majority was out of town, it was still surprising to see this massive hawker center filled with shoppers. We went to 168 and 999 (shopping malls) where I got to see cheap deals (mostly retro and grunge clothes) from Thailand. I need to go back there soon for some legit haul.
Next stop was Lucky Chinatown, and trust me when I say that that place felt like a portal to Mainland (and trust me when I say, again, I mean it as a complement).
Also, got to check out a bit of Ongpin.
After all the walking, good thing there was
Tasty Dumplings with their famous pork chops to fill in our stomachs. Ya'll need to visit this place.
And probably the highlight of that day was a tour around the UST campus. One thing that makes this school aesthetically majestic is the architecture and the over all environment. The place certainly feels like a completely different place at all. I am in love with the campus.
It was definitely an amazing experience. Can't wait to be back soon. J
